Power Factor Correction Device

Thursday, February 24th, 2011

Since becoming a distributor for our power factor correction devices, we have had great success in selling the units locally in the NY area.

We are currently expanding our sales to cover the upstate region of New York. We are focusing on our commercial sales across the upstate region due to the fact that our commercial customers see greater savings in their electric bills which saves on the consumption of electricity making upstate NY a greener place.

To explain this, a small home may use $50.00 of electricity. If the homeowner saves 20% of that it equates to a $10.00 savings. Now, a commercial application of a power factor correction device where a customer’s monthly electric bill is $5000.00 and that customer sees a 20% savings on that amount is $1000.00. That savings is staggering. We have actual proof of these types of savings and our customers are ecstatic!

I could not be more excited about providing the power factor devices to all our customers and having them experience a savings which they never new was available. To explain my background, I am always obsessing about taxes and utility bills because they do not change. In fact, the cost keep rising. I was so thrilled at the power factor correction device that I want to provide it to everyone.

These devices fit perfectly with our theme here at Healthy Homes of Rochester whereby they save money, save energy and help us live green.

Cut Down on Pesky Drafts from Under you Door

Tuesday, December 28th, 2010

Well it is now officially winter. The temperature is nice and cold outside. This is the time of year when I go around the house and look for pesky drafts that need to be sealed. I have done this and found that the bottom of the doors in my home are the worst offenders for drafts. This is not good for my heating bills because I have 3 doors that provide access to the outside. However, I have found a very affordable and simple solution to block the drafts this winter! I am very excited because it was so easy to do that I am amazed.
The perfect solution for the drafts under the doors in my home the purchase of the Twin Draft Guard.
All you do to install is slide the Twin Draft Guard under the door and that is it! How nice is that?

Insulate Your Pipes to Save Energy

Monday, December 27th, 2010

Your home most likely has water pipes that carry hot water from the hot water heater to the kitchen sink, and bathrooms of your home. An easy way to save energy and money is to use foam pipe insulation to insulate the hot water lines (or pipes) in your home. To do this, go to your hot water heater and follow the pipe that carries hot water to the house. Take the foam pipe insulation and cut it to fit in the lengths that you need to cover your pipes. This is very simple to do and cost effective. Taking these steps to install foam pipe insulation in your home will help to keep the water hot in the lines by insulating the pipes.

Below is a recommended choice of pipe insulation. Or you can visit our store at:

Save Water by Collecting Water – Effortlessly

Friday, July 30th, 2010

Going green is a way of life for many of us now. With that in mind, we do all sorts of things to recycle and use organic items instead of harsh chemicals and much more.
Has anyone ever considered using a rain barrel to collect rain water to reuse?
I have purchased a great rain barrel that I placed at the back of my house, behind the garage. This is just another idea to help save our planet and save money at the same time. The rain water can be reused anytime to water the lawn, or water outdoor and indoor plants. The rain water can be used to wash off decks and patios, also patio furniture. The rain water can be used to even wash your dog. Whatever you can imagine a use for, go for it. I think it is a great idea to have one of these items. And just think, it is reducing your water bill without even trying.

The rain barrel is made out of a lightweight poly. It holds 55 gallons of rainwater. It has a hose connection and two spigots. Very handy item.

You can order one below if you would like to use the same type of rain barrel that I use.

Emergency Radio – Solar or Crank to Power!

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

I searched for a while for a portable radio for an emergency if the power went out to have around our home. I found a few options available. Then I came across an emergency radio which is powered by solar or by a crank. Yes, you read that right! I was very excited when this item arrived. It works great. I love how the emergency radio can run on solar power or by cranking it. I use it outside on my patio when I want to relax in the sun. It is nice that I am also living a greener life by not using batteries or electricity. This item is a hit with me.
It is just another idea to save our planet and save money.
Below is the link the same type of emergency radio that I have. Hope this makes your searching easier.

Save Money with Compact Fluorescent Light bulbs

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

I thought I would provide you a great service by recommending products that I use and have tested over time, and, provide a handy link where you can purchase the items if you wish.
I have purchased the compact fluorescent light bulbs you see at the link below and have had good luck with them. The price seems to be very comparable to other stores and even less expensive than some. The bonus is you don’t have to leave your home to get the compact fluorescent light bulbs.

These light bulbs come 4 in a pack, are rated at giving off 40 watts of light while only using the equivalent of 12 watts of energy. Over the lifetime of the bulbs, your estimated saving is $148.00
Now that is what I call saving money. Simply replace the standard incandescent bulbs with the compact fluorescent light bulbs and that is all. Just see the link below if you are in search of new light bulbs.
